MálagaMálaga is well known by everyone travelling to southern Spain although many people really don’t appreciate the city for what it has to offer. For many, the airport at Málaga is the nearest they get to Málaga city itself. Others may have a view of the city from the motorway when heading off for other destinations within the province. Málaga is actually a real jewel in southern Spain. The capital of the Costa del Sol, this misunderstood city offers visitors a wealth of charm, history, culture, sophistication and of course, sunshine! Nominated as the European City of Culture for 2016, this vibrant city will continue to develop over the coming years. Much has been done in recently to improve facilities, cultural venues and infrastructure to accept the increase in visitors over the coming decade. Announced recently, over €100million has been earmarked for improvements to road and rail connections within Málaga province alone. Málaga is well worth a visit at any time of year. If you don’t have the time to stay for long, ensure you take a stroll down Calle Larios, the pedestrianised shopping district, take a tapa at one of the many bars or bodegas or visit the castle on the hill to get a panoramic view of the city and out to sea. To many Brits, Málaga is reminiscent of Brighton – funky, vibrant, cultural and simply great fun – come and see for yourself. back to overviewQuick Links
